Fiji Onsenji Yumendono exceeded our expectations in all aspects. The room was spacious and comfortable with an ample bathing facility leading to a beautiful private onsen. The staff were attentive and considerate of our needs. We are travelling with a 9 month old and during our Kazakai dinner, our hostess helped by entertaining our baby when he was unsettled so that we could enjoy our meal. For the subsequent meals, she moved us to a private dining room and set up a bed for our baby to sleep in while we ate. The staff made every aspect of the trip easier, from clear communication prior to arrival to supporting the logistics of our stay including booking taxis, recommending Fiji viewing areas and being happy to answer any questions. Many of the staff spoke English. I would highly recommend this Onsen to any visitors who are looking for a luxurious, welcoming and hospitable experience.

Finding the place was a bit challenging after sunset as we got there later than planned. If you're taking the bus to Fujikawaguchiko, I recommend buying your bus tickets in advance to avoid any delays. Once we arrived, the check-in process was swift, and a friendly receptionist escorted us to our room, which was impressively spacious. The heated floors in the bathroom were a highlight, and the shower was exceptional. It was delightful to relax in the onsen after a day of traveling. The staff's attentiveness was unexpectedly superb—they checked on us in the morning and guided us to breakfast, where we enjoyed a traditional Japanese meal with a stunning view of Mt. Fuji. On our departure day, as it was raining, the staff kindly offered us a ride to the train station to keep us dry. The staff were incredibly caring and attentive. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We booked this hotel as a bit of a splurge having read the excellent reviews and the inclusion of a private outdoor onsen as part of the room. Rooms were beautifully appointed (modern, high end, traditional) with everything you could need. Loved the delineation of outside shoes and inside footwear and the provision of yukata's for dining. The food is traditional Japanese and we enjoyed the hotel dinner one night which was 8 courses of incredibly unique and delicious dishes (with a significant proportion of seafood.) The service was impeccable, friendly and polite, you are escorted to breakfast and dinner to your dedicated eating space. Lounge access is open for tea, coffee and juice throughout the day. But truly the best part was, after a day of cycling around the lakes or hiking, to be able to sink into 41 degree water in your own private onsen... bliss!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Sakura suite with our daughter. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful, we wanted a place to relax after 9 days in Osaka and Kyoto and Yumenodo for the bill exactly. Service is excellent, everyone who works there is incredibly nice and the food is AMAZING. in fact, there’s so much food at each meal that we didn’t need to eat lunch both days we had breakfast and dinner there. They had special meals for my daughter for breakfast and dinner which she enjoyed, however she’s an adventurous eater, I wouldn’t recommend it if your child is not open to eating raw fish and seafood.

Breakfast and dinner was Amazing. We stayed 2 nights, and only opted dinner for 1 night as we wanted to try out other local dining. The price for dinner is pricey, but I have to say it was worth the experience. A lot of attention to detail in this resort. Loved the room and stay (especially the private hot spring). One area to improve on is to have the host explain the entire facilities. I was wondering around and actually don't know if certain areas are for us to use or not. Communication with the staff was great, but online/email communication was sub-par, which is a bit weird if you ask me.
